Stellar performances recognized
HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth's rowing teams all enjoyed success over the weekend, as two crews are being recognized as The Richards Group Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes – one male, one female – as Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Women's Rowing Varsity Eight
A strong weekend at the Ivy League Championship for Dartmouth women's rowing was highlighted by its varsity eight advancing to the grand final at Ivys for the first time since 2019. In its Saturday heat, the Big Green came out of the gate strong and wouldn't back down, defeating Harvard-Radcliffe while also finishing within a few seconds of two of the nation's top crews in Brown and Yale. The Big Green varsity eight went on to finish sixth in the grand final, with a time of 6:49.889, which was just over three seconds behind Columbia in fifth and not far off from the top crews of Princeton (6:30.520), Penn (6:33.035), Yale (6:34.452) and Brown (6:39.157).

Men's Heavyweight Rowing Second Varsity Eight
Ranked seventh going into the weekend, the Dartmouth men's heavyweight rowing second varsity eight enjoyed a stellar Sunday at the Eastern Sprints, finishing with a bronze medal. In its morning heat, the crew first edged Brown (ranked sixth going into the weekend) with a time of 5:34.12 to advance to the grand final, before beating out Syracuse (5:38.626 to 5:38.938) for third place and the medal. In that race, Dartmouth also beat third-ranked Yale.
