WEST WINDSOR, NJ – The Dartmouth men's lightweight rowing team wrapped up day one of the IRA National Championship on Friday at Lake Mercer. After today's performance, the Varsity Eight heads to the grand finals on Sunday.

The performance by the Varsity Eight punched its ticket to the grand final on Sunday for the first time since 2013.Â
"Getting the opportunity to race for medals for the first time in 10 years is really special and a goal of ours," said Coach Trevor Michelson. "I'm proud of our guys, especially our four returners from last year who missed the grand final by a third of a second. It's great for them to close the gap on Harvard and stay ahead of Cornell and put themselves in a position for a chance to race for a national championship and a chance for a medal on Sunday."
