MOMENTUM ENTERING THE TOURNAMENT
Not only are the Big Green coming into the Ivy League Tournament on an eight-game win streak, they also broke the program's single-game runs record during a 22-1 win over Columbia in what ended up being the regular season finale. That total topped the previous mark, which was set in 2011 against Brown.
Â
CAHALAN AMONG THE PROGRAM'S ALL-TIME GREATS
Senior
Mary Beth Cahalan finished the regular season with a .380 batting average, which currently has her tied for sixth in program history. Beyond the offensive success, Cahalan ranks second in the Ivy League and 23rd in the nation in runners caught stealing (13).
Â
HALL NEARING ANOTHER MILESTONE
Now with 157 strikeouts on the season (and her career), first-year
Jensin Hall needs 13 more in order to claim the most in a single season by any freshman pitcher in program history. During a historic 17-strikeout performance against Brown, she recorded her 100th of the season and became the fastest player in program history to hit that milestone. Those 17 strikeouts were the most by any Ivy League Pitcher against a Division I opponent since 2006.
Â
WEEKLY AWARDS MARK SUCCESSFUL REGULAR SEASON FINISH
Jensin Hall was named the Ivy League's Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time on Monday, and fellow first-year
Cwen Wilson received her first-ever weekly honor in the form of a Rookie of the Week nod.
Â
WITH A WIN…
Should the Big Green win the Ivy League Tournament, they'll have their first NCAA Regional appearance since 2015 when they traveled to Florida State.
Â
SCHEDULE SHIFT
The tournament was originally scheduled to begin on Thursday, but with rain in the forecast for much of the week, the action will begin on Wednesday. Dartmouth's matchup with Princeton is set for Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Â
REGULAR SEASON MATCHUPS
A short-handed Dartmouth, without the services of
Jensin Hall, was swept by Princeton. The Big Green took two of three from Yale in Hanover back in March during an exciting series that featured Hall's no-hitter. Harvard and Dartmouth split a doubleheader, and then the Crimson later took the rescheduled series finale weeks later.
