HANOVER, N.H. — A pair of Dartmouth men's heavyweight fifth years have been named Empacher-IRCA All-Americans this week, as
Jacob Hudgins was named to the first team with
Felix Rawlinson earning a spot on the second team. In addition, 20 student-athletes were named IRCA Scholar Athletes for excellence in the classroom.
For Hudgins, it marks his third straight All-America honor and second first-team honor (also in 2022). Rawlinson was named an All-American for the first time in his career.
Both Hudgins and Rawlinson were staples in the Big Green's varsity eight all season, with Hudgins in the two seat and Rawlinson in the four seat at the IRA National Championship. The Big Green won the petite final at Eastern Sprints and defeated both Boston University and Wisconsin on day two of the Lake Morey Invitational.
Additionally, these 20 Big Green were named Scholar Athletes. In order to be named a "scholar athlete", rowers and coxswains must have met the following criteria:
- Athletes from all IRCA Member Schools are eligible
- Athletes must be in their second year or more of eligibility
- Athletes must have competed in their program's top 3 boats during the current season or raced at the 2022 IRA Championship.
- Athletes must have, at least, a 3.50 cumulative GPA through fall semester.
