Twelve Big Green Student-Athletes Garner Academic All-District At-Large Honors

Student-athletes from nine different Dartmouth programs recognized
HANOVER, N.H. — Twelve Dartmouth student-athletes were recognized for their academic and athletic success on Tuesday by being named to the Academic All-District® Team, as announced by the College Sports Communicators.
The following student-athletes were recognized, all owning strong grade point averages in the classroom along with success in their respective sports as well. First-years were not eligible for the honor.
Women's
Lila Browne – Field Hockey
Katina Christensen – Women's Lacrosse
Emma Hochberg – Women's Rowing
Katherine Sung – Women's Golf
Sophie Thai – Women's Golf
Ava Thurston – Women's Skiing
Men's
Alex Gu – Men's Golf
Griffin O'Neil – Men's Lacrosse
Cam MacDonald – Men's Ice Hockey
Max Martin – Men's Skiing
Steven Townley – Men's Ice Hockey
Cameron Wolfe – Men's Skiing
On the women's side, Browne was an honorable mention All-Ivy and Academic All-Ivy honoree for field hockey in the fall, finishing second on the Big Green in goals (5) and points (14). Christensen was also named honorable mention and Academic All-Ivy, posting 44 points (33 goals, 11 assists), which was second on the team. Hochberg was an Academic All-Ivy honoree as well as a key member of women's rowing's second varsity eight this spring. Sung and Thai were each first team All-Ivy recipients, tying for second at the Ivy League Championship as the Big Green won their first-ever Ivy title. Sung was an Academic All-Ivy honoree after the season as well. Thurston received the Class of 1948 Scholar-Athlete at the Celebration of Excellence while athletically, she won the 20K women's classic at the EISA Championship.
Meanwhile, for the men, Gu was an Academic All-Ivy honoree for the men's golf team, as was O'Neil for men's lacrosse. MacDonald and Townley were both recognized from men's hockey. Townley was Dartmouth's Class of 1948 Scholar-Athlete Award winner and was a finalist for the ECAC Student-Athlete of the Year. Martin and Wolfe of men's skiing were honored as well; Martin competed for the Big Green at the NCAA Championship, finishing 17th overall in the slalom. Wolfe finished 10th in the 20K Classic at the EISA Championship.
