HANOVER, N.H. – On Thursday, Head Coach of Open and Women's Sailing
Justin Assad announced the hiring of Molly Matthews as the program's newest assistant coach.

She also just began a role as Sailing Director at the Vineyard Haven Yacht Club in Martha's Vineyard, overseeing the junior and adult summer programs as well as building curriculum and providing instruction.
Matthews was a collegiate sailor at Roger Williams, graduating with a bachelor's degree in biology in 2023. While a student at Roger Williams, Matthews got into coaching before transitioning to directing roles. She started as a race team coach at Little Traverse Sailors, coaching 12- to 16-year-olds beginner racing skills. She got her first director role in 2021, serving as a waterfront director at Camp Daggett before transitioning to a sailing director at the Little Traverse Yacht Club in 2023.
