Men's Hockey Tabbed Third; Haymes Named Preseason All-ECAC

DANBURY, Conn.—The ECAC announced the results of the men's preseason poll and preseason all-league team. After an ECAC Semifinal appearance in 2023-24 the Big Green have been tabbed third by the ECAC head coaches. Dartmouth junior Luke Haymes was also named to the preseason All-ECAC team.

The Big Green come off a 2023-24 season in which they finished fourth in the ECAC and had a 21-point improvement from 2022-23. After earning a first-round bye, Dartmouth swept Union at Thompson Arena to punch its ticket to the ECAC semifinals. It was the first time since 2015-16 that Dartmouth appeared in the final four of the ECAC Tournament.

Haymes enters his third season as a member of the Big Green, he is coming off a career season in which he scored 18 goals and added 18 assists in 31 games. Following the season, he was named to the ECAC Hockey First Team while also being named a New England All-Star. The Ottawa, Ontario native has skated in 61 career games while scoring 29 goals while adding 23 assists. In his career he has accounted for 11 power play goals and six game winning goals.

Dartmouth opens its season on Friday, Nov. 1 on the road against Harvard with the home opener coming two days later against Stonehill on Sunday, Nov. 3.
