HANOVER, N.H.—Dartmouth women's tennis opened its spring season on Saturday at Boss Tennis Center as Army traveled to Hanover. Dartmouth notched its first win in commanding fashion winning 6-1.
Doubles
The Big Green started the afternoon with three wins in doubles to take the doubles point. Michela Moore and Peyton Capuano played together in first doubles and picked up where they left off in the fall. They won 6-4 to start the spring on a high note.
Elizabeth Fahrmeier and Elise Wong teamed up in second doubles and swept Black Knights 6-0.
In third doubles, first-year Sam Grosjean paired up with Brooke Hess for their first match of the spring. The duo went to a tiebreaker but won 7-6 to complete the doubles sweep.
Singles
Capuano played first singles on Saturday and went 2-0 on the day with a two set win. She won the first set 7-6 before completing the sweep with a 6-3 win in the second set.
Moore also needed just two sets in her second singles match. She won the opening set 6-3 and then completed the sweep with a 6-3 win in the second set.
In fourth singles, Fahrmeier dropped her first set 6-4. She forced a third set with a 6-4 win in the second set. The third and final set was a back and fourth set with the final score being 11-9 Fahrmeier.
Han played in fifth singles and completed a 2-0 day as well for the Big Green. She won the first set 6-3 before winning the second set 6-1 to complete the sweep.
Caroline Lemcke was slotted in sixth singles and had a successful day in her first match of the spring. She won the first set 6-1 before winning the second set 6-2 to complete the sweep.
Dartmouth closes out the opening weekend of the spring on Sunday at Boss Tennis Center. The Big Green welcome Marist for a 10 AM start.
