HANOVER, N.H. –The Dartmouth men's basketball team fell 90-83 to Wyoming on Saturday afternoon at Arena-Auditorium.
Kareem Thomas had another standout game, scoring a career-high 27 points, with three assists and three rebounds. Connor Amundsen scored a season-high 18 points, as well as two assists.
UP NEXT: The Big Green will head south to Ft. Collins, Colo., to face Colorado State on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. MST.
First Half:
Wyoming struck first with a layup, followed by a three-pointer from Connor Amundsen to put Dartmouth on the board.
The back-and-forth nature continued, with the largest lead of the first half being five points in Wyoming's favor. The lead didn't last long, as a jumper and a pointer by Thomas made the score even.
The Big Green took a lead it wouldn't surrender for the rest of the first half, thanks to a three-pointer from Amundsen. Another Amundsen three-pointer in the final 50 seconds of the half allowed Dartmouth to take a 40-39 lead going into halftime.
Second Half:
The Big Green opened the half by scoring eight points, a Jayden Williams three-pointer, a Thomas layup and a three-pointer from Cam McNamee, which would go on to be Dartmouth's best scoring run.
The Cowboys fought back before taking the 61-58 lead with 10 minutes to go.
Dartmouth came within two points of Wyoming's lead, but was unable to secure a comeback.
The Big Green attempted to start another rally with 30 seconds left, having Jackson Munro score a three-pointer, followed by two free throws by Thomas.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Dartmouth scored 20 points in the paint.
The Big Green made 20 of 23 free throws, shooting 87% from the line.
The Big Green shot 48% from beyond the arc, making 12 of 25 three-point attempts. Additionally, they had a 51.1 field goal percentage.
