ITHACA, N.Y. - The Dartmouth track and field team had two podium finishes and numerous all-time placements during the Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships on Saturday at Cornell University.
Colton McMaster was the first student-athlete to earn a spot on the podium, finishing sixth in the weight throw with his 19.37m finish. Madeleine Locher earned sixth place in the 3000m after her 9:30.71 finish.
Bryce Thomas also made noise at Heps, winning the 60m and crushing the school record with his final time of 6.81. He also earned third in the 200m. With the wins, Thomas advanced to the final for each event, which are to be held on Sunday.
Mariella Schweitzer put herself at second all-time in the 60m hurdles with her 8.45 finish. Daniela Ruelas Lomeli followed closely behind, earning fourth all-time in the event. Schweitzer will compete in the final for the event.
Bella Pietrasiewicz won the 1000m preliminary with a time of 2:46.69 and advanced to the final.
Jada Jones had high placements in the 200m and the 400m, allowing her to advance. Adrien Jacobs will be competing for a podium spot in the 500m, while Jack Inglis and Jack Intihar will do the same for the heptathlon. Liam Murray was the runner-up in the 400m preliminary and is competing in the final.
The Big Green will wrap up the final day of the Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships on Sunday, with the first event slated for 11:30 a.m.
