DANBURY, Conn.—ECAC Hockey announced the finalists for ECAC Hockey Player of the Year on Thursday. Dartmouth defensemen CJ Foley was named one of three finalists by the league. The award is awarded based on coaches voting at the end of the regular season.
Foley was a point per game player for the Big Green in the regular season. The sophomore played in all 29 regular season games for the Big Green while totaling 29 points. The 29 points led ECAC defensemen while his 1.00 points per game was top five in the country among defensemen. He scored 11 goals while adding 18 assists, the 11 goals was second in the country among defensemen.
He finished the regular season with a +16 rating which was tied for first among defensemen in the ECAC. His .38 goals per game was tops among defensemen in the country. In the regular season he tallied eight multi-point games while having a nine-game point streak from Nov. 3-Dec. 7.
Foley was recently a unanimous selection to the All-ECAC First Team and Ivy League Player of the Year following the regular season.
Foley and the rest of the Big Green look to punch their ticket to the ECAC Championship as they take on Clarkson on Friday, Mar. 21 at 7 PM in Lake Placid, N.Y.
