FULLERTON, Calif.—The Dartmouth women's tennis team fell to Cal State Fullerton on Sunday, 6-1.

Doubles

The day started strong for the Big Green as the duo of Peyton Capuano and Michela Moore won first doubles 6-4 to gain the early advantage. The duo is 9-2 this spring while playing together.

Dartmouth picked up the doubles point as Elizabeth Fahrmeier and Elise Wong won their fifth match of the spring. The duo also won 6-4 to clinch the doubles point.

Brooke Hess and Sam Grosjean were locked in a tight third doubles match. The match was tied at six when the match was ended as Dartmouth won the doubles point.

Singles

Grosjean played in fourth singles for the Big Green, she fell 6-2, 6-2 in the first singles match to finish on Sunday.

Caroline Lemcke was the second member of the Big Green to finish against Fullerton. She fell 6-1 in the first set and looked to force a tiebreaker. She ultimately fell 7-5 in a close second set.

Moore fell in straight sets in second singles. She fell 6-1 in the first set and could not force a third set as she fell 6-4 in the second set.

Hess was slotted in sixth singles on Sunday, despite falling 6-1 in the opening set she played a tight second set. The second set went to an extended tiebreaker as Hess fell 7-6 (12-10).

Capuano played three sets in her first singles match. She won the opening set 6-3 but fell 7-6 in second set. In the third set, Capuano fell 10-3.

The final match of the day to finish was the third singles match. Valentina Cruz opened the match with a 6-2 win to take an early lead. She fell 6-3 in the second set and lost the tiebreaking set 7-6.

Dartmouth plays one more match in California before returning to the east coast. The Big Green takes on UC San Diego on Monday in La Jolla, Calif.
