Dartmouth Edged Out By Denver In Final Non-Conference Match

HANOVER, N.H.—Dartmouth women's tennis fell in a tight match to Denver on Friday to close out non-conference play. Dartmouth fell to the Pioneers 4-3.

Doubles

The Big Green earned the first point of the match as they took the doubles point. Peyton Capuano and Michela Moore opened the day with a 6-1 win. The duo is now 11-2 this spring and are on a five-match win streak.

Brooke Hess and Sam Grosjean closed out doubles for the Big Green in third doubles. The pair got their sixth win of the season with a 6-3 win.

Elizabeth Fahrmeier and Elise Wong trailed 4-3 in second doubles when the match came to an end.

Singles

Moore notched a 2-0 day for the Big Green with a three set win in second singles. Moore moved to 9-5 on the season, she won the opening set 6-3 but fell 6-1 in the second set. In the third set she edged out her opponent 7-6 to take the point.

Lauren Han won her eighth match of the spring with a three set win in third singles. Despite falling 6-2 in the first set, the first-year battled for a 6-3 win in the second set. She then took the third set 6-3 for the win.

Capuano played first singles but fell in three sets. After falling 6-4 in the first set, she won the second set 6-3 to force a third. In the third she fell 6-3, she is 6-8 this season.

Grosjean looked for her second win of the day in fourth singles. The first year fell 6-1, 6-1 in her 13^th singles match of the spring.

Caroline Lemcke played a back and forth fifth singles match on Friday. She won the opening set 6-4 but went on to drop the second set 7-6 and the third set 6-3.

Brooke Hess was slotted in sixth singles for the Big Green. The junior fell in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 as she fell to 3-4 on the season.

The Big Green close out non-conference play with a 7-8 overall record, a 41-44 singles record, and a 25-11 doubles record. Dartmouth is back on the court on Sunday, Mar. 30 in Cambridge. The Big Green and Crimson are set to square off at 2 PM.
