Dartmouth Honors Senior Class With Win Over Brown

HANOVER,N.H.—The Dartmouth women's tennis team picked up a 4-1 win against Brown on Sunday at Boss Tennis Center. The matchup against the Bears marked the final home match of the season for the Big Green. Dartmouth finishes the home slate with a 6-2 record. The six home wins are the most since the 2017-18 season when Dartmouth went 6-3 at home.

Doubles

The Big Green got off to a fast start on Sunday as Sam Grosjean and Brooke Hess opened the match with a 6-4 win in third doubles. Grosjean and Hess are 7-5 this season when playing together.

Dartmouth clinched the doubles point as Peyton Capuano and Michela Moore won their first doubles match 6-2. The duo is 15-3 this season overall which includes a 4-1 Ivy League record.

Elizabeth Fahrmeier and Elise Wong were battling in second doubles for the Big Green. The duo was trailing 5-3 when the match was stopped due to Dartmouth taking the double point.

Singles

Capuano notched her ninth win of the spring in first singles. She won the opening set 6-2 before clinching the match with a 6-1 second set win. She has now won her last three matches that have been finished.

While Capuano was closing her match, Moore also closed her match in second singles. The sophomore improved to 11-5 on the season with a 6-1, 6-2 win to give Dartmouth a 3-0 lead.

Brown notched its only point of the match in third singles as Lauren Han fell 6-2, 6-4.

Caroline Lemcke clinched the match for the Big Green in sixth singles. The sophomore won her fifth match of the season with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.

Grosjean did not finish her fourth singles match. She had just tied the match at one with a 6-2 win the second set when the match was ended.

Fahremier was in a battle in fifth singles, she fell 6-4 in the first set but led 4-3 in the second set in her final match at Boss Tennis Center.

Prior to the match, Dartmouth honored its two seniors, Fahremeier and Ujvala Jupalli. The Big Green close out the regular season next weekend with a pair of matches in New York State. Dartmouth starts the trip in Ithaca to take on Cornell on Saturday, April 19 before closing out the season at Columbia on Sunday, April 20. Both matches are set for 1 PM starts.
