Dartmouth Finishes Season With 13 Wins Following Season Finale Loss

HANOVER, N.H.—Dartmouth men's tennis hosted Columbia on Sunday in the season finale. Columbia won 4-0 a day after clinching a share of the Ivy League championship.

Doubles

Columbia took an early lead in doubles, Yujiro Onuma and Waleed Qadir played first doubles for Dartmouth. The duo fell 6-2 in their final doubles match of the season.

The Lions clinched the doubles point following a third doubles win. Denny Bao and Alex Knox-Jones fell 6-2, the first-year/senior duo won went 6-2 in doubles play this season.

Miles Groom and Henry Ren trailed in their second doubles match 5-3 when the match was ended.

Singles

Columbia notched its second point of the match with a third singles win. Hikaru Takeda fell 6-4, 6-2 in his final match as a member of the Big Green. Takeda finishes his Dartmouth career with 76 wins.

Ren fell in second singles in straight sets. He fell 7-5 in the first set and 6-2 in the second set. Ren won 12 matches this season for the Big Green.

The Lions closed out the match with a first singles win. Carlos Guerrero Alvarez fell 7-6 in the first set and 6-1 in the second set in his final collegiate match. Guerrero Alvarez finishes his career with 106 wins.

Groom was down a set but was up 5-4 in the second set of his fourth singles match when the match was ended.

Knox-Jones won the first set of his final match 6-0 and was down a game in the third set of his fifth singles match. He had nine dual match wins in 2024-25 and finished his career with 116 career wins.

Onuma played a tough sixth singles match, he fell 7-6 in the first set. He was on the verge of forcing a third set as he led 5-3 in the second set when the match was ended.

The Big Green close the season as the No. 73 team in the country and a 13-10 record. The 13 wins is the most since Dartmouth won 15 matches in 2018-19.
