HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's basketball team will play a road non-conference game against the defending National Champion University of Florida on Monday, Dec. 29, the Gators announced Tuesday.
Â
This will be the first-ever matchup between the Big Green and the Gators, but they will see a familiar face in Xavian Lee, who transferred to Florida after playing three seasons with Princeton. This will mark the second time in three seasons that Dartmouth will face an SEC opponent; the Big Green fell at Vanderbilt, 69-53, on Dec. 30, 2023.
Â
"When you're putting together your schedule, you always want to challenge your team and there's no better challenge than to play a defending national champion," said Dartmouth head coach
David McLaughlin. "Our guys are excited for the opportunity and it's a great way to prepare us for league play because the important thing is to be ready once we start heading into the Ivy League."
