HANOVER, N.H. – Through the course of the 2024-25 academic year, Dartmouth coaches and coaching staffs earned four conference coach of the year awards. The men's basketball, men's hockey and men's lacrosse staffs each earned Ivy League coaching staff of the year honors while Men's Nordic Head Coach Brayton Osgood took home Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) Coach of the Year.
Â
Led by Head Coach David McLaughlin, the men's basketball team won 14 games in the 2024-25 campaign, improving their win total by eight games. The regular season .519 overall win percentage and .571 conference win percentage marks the first time the program has finished above .500 in its overall record and league record since the 1999 season. The Big Green also clinched their first ever berth in ever berth in Ivy Madness, earning the No. 3 seed. Along the way, they beat Boston College of the ACC and earned convincing home victories over Vermont and Cornell.
Â
Dartmouth men's hockey, with Koenig Family Head Coach of Dartmouth Men's Hockey Reid Cashman at the helm, posted an 8-2 record against Ivy League opponents, helping it to their 15th Ivy League title. It was the program's first Ivy title since 2007 and first outright title since 1980. Overall, the Big Green went 18-13-2 and 12-9-1 in conference play, making their second straight trip to Lake Placid for the ECAC Hockey tournament.
Â
The men's lacrosse program also earned coaching staff of the year honors. Sean Kirwan and his staff led the Big Green to an 8-5 overall record, their most wins since 2006 and most conference victories since 2010. Dartmouth was also nationally ranked for the first time since 2007, while opening Ivy League play with a thrilling overtime victory at No. 16 Penn.
Â
Individually, Men's Nordic Head Coach Brayton Osgood '03 earned the EISA Coach of the Year Award. In addition to having first-year skier take home EISA Nordic Rookie of the Year honors, Osgood also coached his veterans to success on the course. A member of the Big Green won every single EISA Nordic race on the circuit, earning first and second in five races and finishing first and third in an additional two. Osgood's veterans, Luke Allan and John Steel Hagenbuch were named EISA discipline leaders, Allan posting the most freestyle points and Hagenbuch the most classic points throughout the circuit.
Â
Dartmouth coaches also took home five national coach of the year honors. More information on those awards and recipients will be published Thursday.
