HANOVER, N.H. -- Connor Amundsen was named Ivy League co-player of the week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.Â
The sophomore point guard was given the distinction for the first time in his career following two outstanding performances in Dartmouth's first week of Ivy League play. Amundsen started the week with a 76-68 win at Harvard where he recorded 18 points and four rebounds/assists. Amundsen then went on to play a significant and historic role in Dartmouth's 102-91 win over Cornell.
He became only the second Ivy League player with a 20-point, 10-assist double-double this season, the other being Yale's Nick Townsend. Amundsen also became the first Ivy League player with a 20-point, 10-assist effort against a conference opponent since Bez Mbeng of Yale had 20/11 at Harvard last season.Â
Additionally, Amundsen's 10 assists against the Big Red are tied for most in the Ivy League this season and are the most for a Dartmouth player since Brendan Barry had 12 against Notre Dame on Dec. 19, 2017. He also had the first points-assists double-double by a Big Green player since that same game against Notre Dame.
