HANOVER, N.H.—On Wednesday, the nominees for the 2026 Hobey Baker Memorial Award was released. Hank Cleaves, CJ Foley, and Hayden Stavroff were named nominees from the Big Green.
Cleaves centers one of the top lines in college hockey and is having a breakout season as a sophomore. The Riverside, Conn. native has skated in 19 games this season and has already set a new career high in goals. He has nine goals this season while notching 15 assists which is just one shy of his career high. He opened the season on a five game point streak with six points in the five games. On Dec. 5 against Brown he notched his first career four point game as he had a goal and three assists. Through 19 games this season he has tallied points in 12 games. He is 17th in the country in points per game while being fourth in the ECAC. He is 20th in the country in assists per game at 0.79.
Foley earns his second straight Hobey Baker Award nomination after being nominated last season. The junior has skated in 19 games this season for the Big Green and is a mainstay on the blueline. The Hanover, Mass native averages over 24 minutes of ice time per game while serving as an assistant captain. He has scored three times this season while adding 10 assists. Over the past three seasons, he has skated in 84 career games while scoring 19 goals and 44 assists. He opened the season on a three game point streak while having points in four of the first five games.
Stavroff has been one of the best goal scorers in college hockey in 2025-26. The Columbus, Ohio native has scored 20 goals this season which is tied for the most in Division I. He leads the country in goals per game at 1.05 while adding 10 assists this season. The sophomore has five multi goal games this season including a hat-trick and four goal game. On Dec. 5, he became the first Dartmouth player to scored four goals in a game since 2003, he added an assist for five points in that game. He is the first Big Green player to tally five points in a game since the 2017-18 season. Stavroff is currently on a three game point streak in which he has five goals and two assists. He has scored at least one goal in 12 of 19 Dartmouth games this season. Through 50 career games, he has tallied 30 goals and 22 assists.

The first phase of voting will end on March 8 with the top ten nominees to be announced on March 18. The 'Hobey Hat Track' will be announced on April 2 with the winner being announced at the NCAA Frozen Four in Las Vegas on April 10.
No. 10 Dartmouth hits the road for matchups with No. 12 Cornell and Colgate this weekend. The Big Green and Big Red square off in Ithaca, N.Y. on Friday, Jan. 23 at 7 PM before traveling to Colgate to take on the Raiders on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 7 PM.
