HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth women's basketball team pulled to within four at the half then trimmed an 18-point fourth-quarter deficit down to eight, but couldn't get any closer in a 55-41 loss to Brown on Friday evening inside Leede Arena.
Debra Hill led the offense with eight points and four rebounds in just 14 minutes of action.
Alyssa Moreland and Grace Arnolie led Brown with 14 points apiece.
With the loss, Dartmouth falls to 9-10 and 0-6 in the Ivy League. Brown improves to 12-6 and 4-2.
Along with Hill's eight points,
Cate MacDonald had seven points and six rebounds while
Olivia Austin and
Sierra Carson each scored six points.
Friday marked the Big Green's first home game in 20 games, since Jan. 10 against Cornell.

FIRST QUARTER:
- Brown jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead behind a pair of 3-pointers, but Dartmouth answered with eight of the next 10 points, capped off by three consecutive field goals from Austin. The third evened the score at 8-8 with 4:02 left in the first.
- Brown responded with a 9-0 run before four straight Big Green points, including a Carson corner three as the clock expired, pulled Dartmouth within 17-12.
SECOND QUARTER:
- After Brown extended its lead back to nine, 21-12, the Big Green staged a 7-2 run to pull within 23-19 with 4:32 until halftime.
- A Hill layup got Dartmouth within 24-21.
- The Big Green trailed 27-23 at the half after an Ozel coast-to-coast layup as the clock expired.
THIRD QUARTER:
- An Alexandra Eldredge jumper pulled Dartmouth to within 27-25 early in the third.
- However, the Big Green wouldn't score for the next 7:34. Brown scored nine in that stretch to take a 36-25 lead and would go on to lead 38-28 after three quarters of play.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- The Bears began the fourth on an 8-0 run as an Arnolie steal and ensuing fast break layup gave her team a 46-28 advantage with 6:55 on the clock.
- Dartmouth would chip away, later using a 7-0 run to trim a 17-point deficit down to 10 at 48-38 after a pair of Eldredge free throws.
- However, there was just 2:18 remaining. The Big Green pulled within eight after a Hill layup made it 49-41, but only 52 seconds to go.
- That's as close as they would come as Brown wrapped up the 55-41 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- For the game, the Big Green shot 28.3% from the floor (15-of-52), including 14.3% from 3-point range (4-of-28).
- Brown finished at 35.6% (21-of-59) and 21.7% from behind the arc (5-of-23).
- The Bears held a 44-35 edge in rebounds.
- Dartmouth finished with a season-high 25 turnovers while also forcing 23, a season-high against a Division I opponent.
- Hill's eight points came on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting. She is now shooting 65.0% from the floor this season (26-of-40).
