Zeynep Ozel became the first Big Green player to score 30 points since 2017

HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth women's basketball team jumped out to a dominant 17-0 lead and wouldn't look back, in a wire-to-wire 77-59 win over Yale on Saturday evening inside Leede Arena. Zeynep Ozel led the way with a career high 30 points, the most points scored by a Big Green player since 2017, to help Dartmouth snap a 10-game losing streak to the Bulldogs in the process.
Ozel's 30 points came on 9-of-15 shooting, including 5-of-10 from 3-point range and 7-of-7 from the free throw line. She added five rebounds, five assists and a steal. The last Big Green player to reach 30 points was Fanni Szabo, who scored 31 against Columbia on Jan. 27, 2017.

The Big Green led 20-6 after one quarter, lost the middle two quarters by just two each, then erased any doubt in the fourth with a 27-19 advantage.
Olivia Austin just missed a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds while Cate MacDonald tallied 12 points and seven boards.
The win snaps a 10-game losing streak against Yale and gives the Big Green their largest margin of victory over an Ivy League opponent since a 78-43 win over Brown on Feb. 23, 2019.
The Big Green hit the road next Saturday to face Harvard at 2 p.m.
FIRST QUARTER:
It was all Dartmouth early, opening a 17-0 lead with Ozel scoring 10 of them before the game was six minutes old. She knocked down two 3-pointers in that stretch.
Yale responded by scoring six of the final nine points of the stanza to pull within 20-6 after one quarter of play.
SECOND QUARTER:
The Bulldogs pulled within seven at 22-15 and 27-20 ,then five at 27-22.
Dartmouth ended the half on a 7-0 run, starting with two consecutive MacDonald field goals.
Dartmouth led 34-22 at the half.
THIRD QUARTER:
The Big Green lead stayed in double figures for most of the third quarter, reaching as high as 17 after an Alexandra Eldredge steal and layup.
Yale got back to within seven at 47-40, but a huge 3-point play from Ozel gave Dartmouth a 50-40 lead heading to the fourth.
FOURTH QUARTER:
After a Ke'iara Odume second-chance layup pulled Yale within 62-50, the Big Green erased any doubt with eight of the next nine points, as a Minicozzi layup gave Dartmouth a 70-51 lead with 1:34 remaining.
Dartmouth hit enough free throws down the stretch to maintain a comfortable lead, on the way to the 77-59 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Dartmouth finished at 44.0% from the floor (22-of-50), including 27.8% from 3-point range (5-of-18).
Yale shot 33.3% (20-of-60) and 25.0% from behind the arc (3-of-12).
The Bulldogs held a 36-34 edge in rebounds, including 17-10 on the offensive glass.
There were 44 combined fouls in the game, 27 on Yale and 17 on Dartmouth.
The win snapped a five-game losing streak to Yale at home.
Dartmouth's 10 wins on the season mark its most since the 2019-20 season.
The Big Green's 28 made free throws and 36 attempts both marked season highs.
