NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Dartmouth football team showed fight in an Ivy League contest at the Yale Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 10, trailing just 14-7 at halftime before (RV) Yale pulled away for a 28-7 win.Â
Grayson Saunier threw for 156 yards and a touchdown, bringing his career total to 3,415 passing yards. That ranks 10th in program history, just nine yards behind David Gabianelli '87 (3,424) for ninth. Ky'Dric Fisher caught four passes for 72 yards and his third touchdown of the season. Cameron Bates added two catches for 51 yards, including a 49-yarder, and Myles Craddock led the ground game with 55 yards on 16 carries.
Luke Armistead delivered a standout day in the punting game. He averaged 49.3 yards on seven punts, with two landing inside the 20. His 77-yard punt in the first quarter ranks second in program history, behind only Jay Bennett '71's 83-yarder against the University of Massachusetts in 1970.
After the Bulldogs scored on their first two possessions to open a 14-0 lead, Dartmouth responded right away. Saunier led an 11-play, 87-yard drive and found Fisher on a 30-yard touchdown pass with 48 seconds left in the first quarter. Owen Zalc's PAT made it 14-7, and it stayed that way at halftime.

The defense kept Dartmouth in the game. It turned Yale away on fourth down twice inside the 20-yard line, first at the 2-yard line in the second quarter and again early in the fourth, when Harrison Keith and Bruce Williams stopped the Bulldogs on fourth-and-2. Cameron Best-Alston and Keith each made 12 tackles, Steve Simpkins Jr. had 10, Johnny Stephens finished with nine, and Matthew Boydell added eight.
The Big Green also pushed back late. Following a Yale field goal that made it 20-7, Dartmouth marched 60 yards in six plays to the Yale 15-yard line before the drive ended on downs. The Bulldogs scored on the next possession and Yale would earn the 28-7 win.
