NEW YORK – The Dartmouth men's basketball team defeated Columbia in a nail-biting fashion at Levien Gymnasium on Saturday, winning the close 64-63 match-up to split the season series 1-1 with the Lions.
Jackson Munro led the Big Green offense with 13 points, including the game winner, as well as two rebounds and three assists. Brandon Mitchell-Day recorded his seventh double-double of the season, tabbing 12 points and 11 rebounds. Nikola Abusara and Cam McNamee each contributed nine points, while McNamee had seven rebounds. Connor Amundsen led the team in assists with eight while recording eight points.

First Half:
- Columbia opened scoring with two dunks and a layup, taking a 6-0 lead before Amundsen put Dartmouth on the board with a layup and jumper.
- The Lions took as much as a six-point lead in the first half, but Dartmouth continued applying pressure. A layup by Mitchell-Day and three pointer by McNamee allowed Dartmouth to take its first lead of the game, which would be challenged by a Columbia three pointer just moments later.
- Cam Hiatt allowed the Big Green to go into halftime with a 29-28 lead, thanks to a three pointer of his own.
Second Half:
- Kenny Noland opened the second half with a layup, before Kareem Thomas returned the favor with a layup of his own.
- The Big Green took as much as a ten-point lead just six minutes into the half, before the Lions began fighting back. The lead changed six times in the final 10 minutes of the game.
- With just a minute left, Noland hit a layup to bring the game within a point, then Columbia's Mason Ritter gave his team the lead with two made free throws. The clock had 13 seconds left when Columbia took its final timeout, which was followed by Munro drawing a foul.
- The game was in Munro's hands as three seconds remained on the clock. The senior captain made his first free throw to tie the game at 63-63, then made his second to secure the 64-63 victory for the Big Green.
Behind The Numbers:
- Dartmouth shot 94.1% from the free throw line, going 16 for 17.
- The Big Green scored 22 points in the paint, while the bench was responsible for 21 of the Big Green's 64 points.
- This marks Dartmouth's third victory at Levien Gymnasium since the 2019-20 season and gives its fourth Ivy League victory on the road this season.
