PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Dartmouth men's basketball team dropped a hard-fought road contest to Penn, 80-71, Friday night at The Palestra.
Brandon Mitchell-Day led the way for the Big Green with 23 points and eight rebounds, shooting 7-of-11 from the field and 7-of-9 from the free-throw line. Mitchell-Day also surpassed 1000 career points in this game, becoming only the 33rd student-athlete in program history to do so. Cameron McNamee added 18 points off the bench, knocking down 4-of-5 from three-point range, while Kareem Thomas chipped in eight points.

First Half:
- Dartmouth came out sharp, with Mitchell-Day scoring the game's first basket and helping set the tone early. The Big Green shot an efficient 55.2 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from beyond the arc in the opening 20 minutes.
- Back-to-back threes from McNamee helped Dartmouth build its largest lead of the half, 23-14, midway through the period. The Big Green continued to answer Penn runs, with Mitchell-Day attacking inside and Thomas converting at the line.
- A late layup from Thomas sent Dartmouth into the locker room with a 42-34 advantage after one of its strongest offensive halves of the season.
Second Half:
- Dartmouth extended its lead to 45-34 early in the second half after a Jayden Williams three-pointer, but Penn responded behind a dominant performance from T.J. Power.
- The Quakers chipped away before tying the game at 53-53 with just under 12 minutes to play. The contest featured seven ties and seven lead changes, with neither side able to create separation for much of the half.
- After Nikola Abusara converted an and-one opportunity to give Dartmouth a 59-56 edge at the 10-minute mark, Penn answered with a 7-0 run to take control. The Quakers pushed their lead to as much as eight points in the final minutes, capitalizing at the free-throw line down the stretch.
- Despite a late three-pointer from Connor Amundsen to cut the deficit to seven, Dartmouth was unable to complete the comeback as Penn secured the 80-71 victory.
