TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Dartmouth women's softball team challenged No. 7 Alabama on Sunday at JoAnn Graf Field, holding the Crimson Tide scoreless through the fifth inning but falling 3-2.

Jensin Hall shined in the circle, giving up just five hits to an undefeated SEC team and recording three strikeouts through six innings of work. The one-run decision marks the closest game Alabama has had this season, the second being a 6-3 victory over Liberty.

The seniors got things going for the Big Green, with Ashley Frantz reaching base on a fielding error and Lauren Ben-Ezra hitting a single to left field. Justice Malone hit an RBI single to right center, scoring Frantz and allowing Ben-Ezra to advance to third. Malone was then caught stealing from first, allowing Ben-Ezra to steal home and secure a 2-0 lead for Dartmouth.

Alabama had just one hit in the third and fourth innings, but were able to manufacture a 3-run lead in the fifth to secure the victory.

The Big Green are back in action on Thursday when heading to Orlando, Fla., to face UCF at the Black and Gold Classic. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the UCF Softball Complex.
