HANOVER, N.H. – On Monday, Robert L. Blackman Head Football Coach Sammy McCorkle announced  Jordan Belfiori, Todd Gilcrist and Quentin Jones have joined the Big Green as the team's three newest assistant coaches.
Â
Belfiori comes to Hanover after one season at Butler and will focus on the Big Green's defense and linebackers, serving in the same role in Indiana. He spent the majority of his career at Colgate, coaching the Raiders for seven seasons.
In his first season with Colgate, the Raiders won ten games for the fourth time in program history, winning their 10th Patriot League Championship. The Raiders started the season undefeated, as the defense gave up just 29 points over the first nine games and tied an FCS record with five shutouts.
Â
In addition to coaching countless student-athletes to league recognitions in his time at Colgate, his linebackers led the nation in scoring defense (9.3), total defense (237.7), and pass efficiency defense (88.7) in 2018.
Â
Prior to Colgate, Belfiori was a graduate assistant at Western Michigan and coached at Wayne State. He also has experience at the high school level, as his first coaching job was at L'anse Creuse High School-North in Michigan.
Â
"Jordan's defensive scheme and philosophy mesh really well with our current players," McCorkle said. "Having known Jordan for quite some time, I'm confident his energy and attention to detail will continue Dartmouth's defensive tradition as we work to continue to take this program to the next level."
Â
Next, Todd Gilcrist joins the Big Green with a wide range of coaching experience from the Division III level to the NFL, having spent the last six months at Division III Averett. As the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach, Gilcrist implemented the offensive system and coached the Cougars to 231.5 yards per game, 2,086 total yards, and 16 touchdowns.
Â
Prior to his time in Virginia, Gilcrist was the Bill Walsh Coaching Fellow and Offensive Intern at the Jacksonville Jaguars, working with the team's wide receivers, running backs, and tight ends. He assisted with quality control, on-field training, and player tracking and rotation assistance on game days.
Â
Gilcrist has also been a head coach, coaching the University of Chicago Maroons to a 13-7 record in 2023. In two seasons in Chicago, he coached 5 All-Americans and over 25 all-conference players.
Â
His Division I coaching experience came at Holy Cross and fellow Ivy League member Columbia. Gilcrist was the offensive pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach for the back-to-back-to-back Patriot League Champion Crusaders from 2019-2022. In four seasons with the Lions, Gilcrist played a pivotal role in turning a winless program into an 8-2 team, second best in the Ivy League.
Â
"Todd's prior experience at high academic institutions, the professional level, and as a head coach make him a valuable addition to our staff," McCorkle said. "We're excited about the knowledge he's going to bring the wide receiver room!"Â
Â
Finally, Quentin Jones joins the Big Green staff as the program's newest defensive line coach. He spent the last four seasons at Wesleyan, serving as the associate head coach, run game coordinator, defensive line coach, and a strength and conditioning coordinator. Jones helped the Cardinals to back-to-back NESCAC Championships and four straight Little 3 Championships, both achievements for the first time in program history.
Â
Additionally, Jones' defense led the conference and nation. In four seasons under Jones, the Cardinals had three Defensive Player of the Year awards, an all-conference defensive line, and in 2024, a defense that ranked first in the nation in first down defense and sixth in third down defense. In his first season in Connecticut, the Cardinals led the NESCAC in sacks and ranked atop the nation and conference in multiple categories; second in the NESCAC in rushing defense and opponents first downs, and 23rd in NCAA first down defense, 27th in NCAA redzone defense, and 28th in NCAA rushing defense.
Â
At the collegiate level, Jones also has coaching experience at Defiance College, Ohio Wesleyan, Brown, Western New Mexico, and Limestone College.
Â
In addition to college athletics, Jones has taken his coaching experience professionally and abroad. He served as the head coach and general manager for the Dayton Firebirds of the National Gridiron League, now the United Football League and was the head coach of the Prague Lions in Czech Republic, coaching the Lions to a 7-2 record, a conference championship, and a top defense in turnovers and interceptions.
Â
"Quentin's experience and knowledge of the defensive line position make him a natural fit for this position," McCorkle said. "His ability to build relationships and energy made him stand out to us during the interview process and we're looking forward to having him as part of our football program."
