SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Dartmouth women's tennis began its spring trip with a neutral site match against Colgate, Wednesday, cruising to a 7-0 victory over the Raiders. The Big Green lost only one match on the day, dropping third doubles.
With the win, the Big Green move to 9-3 on the season.
Josephine Lombardi and
Elise Wong kicked off the day with a win at second doubles, defeating Colgate's Cristobal and Herman, 6-2.
Peyton Capuano and
Michela Moore continued to dominate at first doubles, collecting the 6-4 victory to clinch to doubles point. Moore earned her 50
th career doubles win with the Big Green while the pair move to 10-2 on the spring season.
Audrey Feng played in her first doubles match of the spring season, alongside
Brooke Hess, playing in only her second. Feng and Hess battled to a tiebreaker, but fell to Colgate 7-6, 7-4.
Lombardi advanced to 2-0 on the day, winning her singles match at the sixth position. Her match was the first to conclude as she lost only one set, defeating her opponent 6-0, 6-1.
Lauren Han made her first appearance of the day at fourth singles, impressing with a 6-1, 6-2 win.
Sam Grosjean played at fifth singles, cruising to a 6-0 first set victory. She won her match after winning the second set, 6-2.
Capuano's match at first singles finished next, as she too stayed undefeated on the day after earning the 6-1, 6-2 singles win.
Alexandra Orlins wo her match at third singles. After a closely fought first set Orlins won in a tiebreaker, 7-6, 7-1, she impressed with a quick second set, defeating Colgate's Hess, 6-1.
Moore's match at second singles was the final to conclude as she won 6-4, 6-3, remaining undefeated on the day and helping Dartmouth to an overall 7-0 victory.
