HANOVER, N.H. – This past weekend, Dartmouth women's tennis welcomed Stony Brook and UMass to Boss Tennis Center, defeating both teams for its second straight undefeated weekend.
The Big Green are now 8-3 on the spring season.
Dartmouth earned the doubles point over the Seawolves with wins at both first and second doubles.
Peyton Capuano and
Michela Moore earned the 6-3 win at first doubles while
Josephine Lombardi and
Elise Wong won their second doubles match, 6-1.
Lauren Han and
Alexandra Orlins paired up at third doubles, but fell to Ozola and Charles of Stony Brook, 6-4.
Caroline Lemcke's fourth singles match was the first to finish, as she cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Lombardi collected her second win of the day at third singles, earning a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Stony Brook's Douglas. Lombardi's doubles partner Wong fell in her singles match at the sixth position, 6-4, 6-3.
Audrey Feng made her first appearance of the weekend at fifth singles, earning a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
At second singles, Han dropped her first set, 6-3, before battling back to win the next two sets and secure the pints, 6-2. 6-1.
Capuano rounded out singles play at first singles. She earned the tiebreak victory in the first set 7-6 (7-3) before winning the second set, 6-4.
On Sunday, the Big Green faced off against the Minutewomen.
Lombardi and Orlins played at second doubles, earning the 6-2 victory. Han and Lemcke were paired for third doubles but fell to UMass' Markevica and Pavissich, 6-2.
Capuano and Moore secured the doubles point for the Big Green at the first position, posting a 7-5 victory.
Orlins' second singles match was the first to conclude, as she cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
Han played at third singles and was the next match to conclude. She dropped the first set 6-2 before battling back to force a tiebreaker in the second set. She fell in the tiebreak, 7-5, as Pavissich earned the 7-6 second set victory.
Lombardi's singles match at fourth singles finished next, as she fell 7-5, 6-4.
Lemcke earned an important singles point at the fifth position, posting a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Markevica.
Feng won the match for the Big Green at sixth singles. She dropped the first set 6-1, but battled back to win the second set, 7-5, and third set 6-4.
Moore played in her first singles match of the weekend against UMass at first singles. She dropped the first set 7-5, before coming back to win the tiebreak in the second set. Moore was leading 5-3 in the third set when the match was called after Feng secured the overall match victory for the Big Green.
Dartmouth is off this weekend but will return to action on Wednesday, March 18, heading out West for four matches on its spring break trip. The schedule will begin with a neutral site match with Colgate on Wednesday, March 18 at 3 p.m. EST.
