Sarasota, Fla. – The Dartmouth women's rowing team had a strong start to its spring season at the Sarasota 2k, making multiple podium finishes while competing against a field of Division I programs.
Dartmouth's Varsity Four delivered one of the Big Green's top results of the weekend. After winning its preliminary heat with a time of 7:27.42, the crew advanced to the Grand Final and placed second overall, finishing in 7:45.38 to secure a podium finish.
The Third Varsity Eight also posted a strong showing. Dartmouth won its heat on Friday with a time of 6:55.04 before finishing third in the Grand Final on Saturday in 7:11.66, earning another podium result for the Big Green.
In the Second Varsity Four, Dartmouth opened the regatta with a first-place heat victory (7:43.50) before placing third in the Grand Final with a time of 7:39.85. The Big Green's Second Varsity Eight advanced to the Grand Final after finishing second in its heat and ultimately placed fourth overall with a time of 7:12.69.
Dartmouth's Varsity Eight also reached the Grand Final following a runner-up finish in its heat. The crew concluded the weekend with a fourth-place finish in the championship race, crossing the line in 6:46.36. Across the two days of racing, Dartmouth advanced all five of its championship boats to their respective Grand Finals, highlighted by three podium finishes and multiple heat victories.
Dartmouth will continue its season at Brown next Saturday in Providence.
