HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth field hockey celebrated the 2025 season at its annual end-of-year banquet.
Florentina Terra and Olivia Galiotos were the recipients of the Dorothy H. Leavitt Award which is presented to the player or players who have made the greatest contribution to the field hockey program, both on and off the field. Terra appeared in all 16 games for the Big Green this season, making 14 starts. She had one assist at Penn on Sept. 26 and had one defensive save vs. Princeton on Oct. 11. She finished her career appearing in 64 games, starting 52, and ten assists. Galiotos appeared and started in all 16 game this season for the Big Green. Galiotos scored three goals on eight shots on goal and dished three assists in her senior season. She also was recognized on the NFHCA Senior Team that honors the top 38 senior student-athletes across the country for their performance, leadership, and contribution to the game.
Junior Riley Dumigan earned Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. Dumigan appeared and started every game of the 2025 season scoring one goal and dishing five assists. Dumigan was vital in creating offensive opportunities for the Big Green and a perfect example of effort, aggression, and hard work.
The Defensive Player of the Year Award was presented to senior goalkeeper Ava Carlson. Carlson led the Big Green in goal playing and starting all 16 games. She had a season-high nine saves at Yale on Oct. 17, made 70 saves over the course of the season, and finished her senior campaign with a .680 save percentage. Carlson was the backbone of the Big Green defense. Her communication, leadership, and ability to command the circle elevated everyone around her, pushing the team to be their best.
First-year midfielder Georgia Thornton was awarded Most Improved Player following her first season in Hanover. Thornton appeared in 15 games for the Big Green and had two assists, one vs. UMass on Sept. 14 and one vs. UMass Lowell on Oct. 5.
Sophomore Isabel Andrews was named Teammate of the Year. Andrews, a sophomore goalkeeper from Malvern, Pa. was the team's biggest supporter, cheering for her team on the sidelines and being a beacon of positivity despite struggling with an injury during the season.
Ruby Walsh was also recognized for her defensive accomplishments this season. Walsh recorded seven defensive saves this season, four being in Ivy League play. Her seven defensive saves put her at first in the Ivy League and third in the NCAA.
The team also was recognized as they earned the National Academic Team Award for the 11th consecutive year. This honor is granted to programs that achieve a GPA of 3.50 or higher in the fall semester.
Ava Russo, Megan Spear, and Boau-Lilly Shepherd were also recognized as they received the NFHCA Scholar of Distinction Award. This award is given to those who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher. This is Shepherd's fourth consecutive season winning this award.
