WORCESTER, Mass. – The Dartmouth women's rowing team delivered a strong showing across multiple boats at the Women's Eastern Sprints, highlighted by three runner-up finishes in grand finals and a podium finish in the varsity eight. The Big Green finished second overall in team points, behind Brown.
"Today was a really fun day of racing for the team and definitely a step in the right direction as we prepare for Ivy Championships in two weeks. While there are plenty of things we need to improve on within each crew, I do want to take a moment to appreciate how far this team has come. Finishing 2nd in the overall team points is something we are super proud of and shows this team that their hard work is paying off."

In the varsity eight, the Big Green placed third overall in the grand final, finishing in 6:18.263 behind Brown and Columbia. Dartmouth secured its spot in the finsl after finishing second in its morning heat with a time of 6:22.886.
The second varsity eight added another strong result, finishing fourth in the grand final with a time of 6:27.612. Dartmouth advanced out of the heats with a second-place finish (6:29.997).
Dartmouth saw one of its best performances in the third varsity eight, where the Big Green took second place in the grand final after placing third in their heat earlier in the day, crossing the line in 6:40.166.
Another runner-up finish came in the varsity four A, as Dartmouth placed second in the grand final with a time of 7:17.757. The crew won its heat (7:20.595) earlier in the day, finishing ahead of Boston College, Radcliffe, UMass and Holy Cross.
The varsity four B also turned in a strong showing, finishing second in its grand final (7:20.240) after placing second in its heat earlier in the day. In the varsity four C, Dartmouth competed in the grand final and placed fourth overall with a time of 7:37.437, rounding out a solid day for the Big Green's fours.
