Women’s Soccer to Face Arizona State and Arizona in the Cactus Classic

HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth women's soccer will play in the Cactus Classic, hosted by the University of Arizona, in Tucson, Arizona. The Big Green will face Arizona State on Thursday, Sept. 3 and then on Sunday, Sept. 6, Dartmouth will play the University of Arizona.

This will be the third matchup between Dartmouth and Arizona State, with a 1-1 record between the two teams. The Sun Devils won the first matchup, 3-2 in Tempe, Arizona in 2004. In 2005, the Big Green recorded a 2-1, overtime victory over Arizona State in Hanover.

The 2026 Season So Far
The Big Green has an overall record of 2-1-1. Dartmouth opened the 2026 regular season with a 2-1 victory over UMass Lowell on Thursday, August 20^th at Burnham Field. Dartmouth scored two goals within the first 15 minutes of play, as Emmanuella Frimpomaa and Nadia Young scored their first goals of the season, as Maeve Theobald and Madison Rose assisted on Frimpomaa's goal. The River Hawks scored early in the second half and put pressure on the Big Green's defense; however, Dartmouth held on and earned their first victory of the season.

On Sunday, August 23^rd, Dartmouth and the University of New Hampshire played to a 0-0 tie in Durham, New Hampshire. Goalkeeper Ola Goebel recorded four saves against the Wildcats, while Nadia Young led the Big Green in shots, with four and Anna Leschly had two shots against New Hampshire.

On Thursday, August 27^th, the Big Green defeated San Francisco, 2-0 at Burnham Field. Nadia Young recorded a goal and an assist, as Stephanie Lathrop had a goal and Frankie Valverde had an assist. Ola Goebel posted a second shutout of the season, with four saves recorded against the Dons.

On Sunday, August 30, Dartmouth fell to Boston College, in a 1-0 competitive match in Newton, Massachusetts. Ola Goebel recorded a season-best of six saves in goal, while Stephanie Lathrop had a team-best of five shots against the Eagles.

In the Ivy League
Goalkeeper Ola Goebel leads the Ivy League in goals against average (0.50), shutouts per game (2), saves (89.5%) and saves per game (4.25 average). Nadia Young leads the Ivy League in game-winning goals, with two. Young is ranked seventh in goals, with two and eighth in points, with five. Stephanie Lathrop is ranked third in shots, with an average of 3.75, as Young is ranked ninth with an average of 2.25 shots per game.

Coming off an Historic Season
The 2025 season for Dartmouth women's soccer was historic. The Big Green captured their first Ivy League Tournament title in program history, first coaching staff in program history to be named Ivy League Coaching Staff of the Year, first Rookie of the Year recognition since 2012, five players named to All-Ivy teams, finished second place in the Ivy League for the first time since 2014 and earned an NCAA Tournament berth for the first time since 2005.

Returning Players to Watch
2025 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, sophomore defender Anna Leschly returns to the pitch for the Big Green, after a fantastic freshman season. In her first year, she was named First Team All-Ivy, earned All-Tournament team honors, earned USC NCAA Division I Women's All East-Region Second Team Honors and was called up to the US Under-20 Women's National Team training camp. She started in 17 games in 2025, where she scored a goal and totaled two points.

Junior forward Stephanie Lathrop returns to the pitch for the Big Green, after a stellar sophomore season. She was named the Ivy League Tournament Most Outstanding Player, was named First Team All-Ivy, earned All-ECAC Second Team honors, earned USC All-East Region Third Team honors and earned All-Tournament Team honors. Lathrop scored the game-winning goal in back-to-back Ivy League Tournament matches, which helped Dartmouth win its first Ivy League Championship title in program history. In addition, she led the Ivy League in shots, points and goals per game. Lathrop led the Big Green in goals scored with nine and was tied in assists, with four.

Senior goalkeeper Ola Goebel returns in between the posts for the Big Green, after a great junior season. Goebel led the Ivy League in goals against average, saves and shutouts per game with eight shutouts through 13 games. She was named First Team All-Ivy, earned All-Tournament honors and earned All-ECAC First Team honors. In 13 games played for Dartmouth, she allowed only five goals and recorded an impressive 89% save percentage.

Senior defender Ellie Davidson returns to the pitch for the Big Green, after a terrific junior season. She was named Second Team All-Ivy and CSC Academic All-District honors, after she started in all 19 games for Dartmouth. Davidson was a part of the dominant backline that recorded eight shutouts and allowed just nine goals all season.

Junior midfielder Lourdes Lauterborn returns to the pitch for the Big Green, after a superb sophomore season. She was tied for the most assists recorded on the team, with four. Lauterborn appeared in 16 games, scored three goals and totaled 38 points.

New Players to Watch
Stacy Branca '94 Family Head Coach of Women's Soccer, Taylor Schram and her staff, welcomed in a talented class of 2030, which features Gaby Dimmock, Tasha Udebhulu, Lily Morse, Harper Hudepohl, Emma Loparco, Catalina Gomez-Velez, Klara Schotte and Anna Gominiak.
