HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth field hockey team opens Ivy League play on Friday, hosting Harvard at Chase Field, before hitting the road Sunday for a non-conference match at Maine.

Last Time Out
Dartmouth split its home-opening weekend, topping Merrimack 4-2 on Sept. 11 before falling 2-1 to Sacred Heart on Sept. 13. The Big Green have scored six goals on the season, led by Amelie Luessmann's two, and have found the cage on 60.5% of their shots on goal. Kylie McKinley has handled the bulk of the work in net, going 1-2 with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .688 save percentage across three appearances.

Scouting Harvard
The Crimson are off to a 3-1 start and enter Hanover fresh off a 2-1 win over Boston College on Sept. 13, their only loss coming to UMass on Sept. 11. Harvard is averaging 2.25 goals per game on 15.8 shots per game and has drawn 33 penalty corners through four matches. The Crimson are currently ranked third in the NFHCA Coaches poll. Lara Beekhuis leads the attack with three goals and a team-high seven points, while Martha le Huray (one goal, three assists) and Sage Piekarski (two goals, one assist) have also been key contributors. In goal, Linde Burger has started every match for the Crimson, posting a 1.25 goals-against average, a .688 save percentage and a shutout.

Scouting Maine
The Black Bears are 3-3 with a mix of blowout losses and gritty wins, having dropped a 0-5 decision to Boston College on Sept. 11 before rallying for a 3-2 win at Boston University on Sept. 13 — the same BU team that beat Dartmouth 5-1 to open the season. Maine is shooting .143 as a team and has been outshot significantly by its opponents, 108-56 on the year. Martha Barratt (two goals, one assist) and Saylor Kuefler (two goals) lead the offense, while Taylor Stanford has a team-high two assists and a game-winning goal. Annabel Halkes has started the majority of Maine's matches in goal, going 3-2 with a 2.03 goals-against average, a .787 save percentage and two shutouts.

Players to Watch
Amelie Luessmann has found the back of the net twice already this season and has yet to miss the target, converting on all six of her shots on goal. Ella Bowman has also been productive with a goal, an assist and a game-winning goal in limited action, and Riley Dumigan has chipped in offensively as well. Kylie McKinley's play in net will be worth watching against a Harvard team that has generated 33 penalty corners already this season, and again against a Maine team that has struggled to find consistent offense of its own.
