HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's soccer team earned its first win of the 2026 season with a 2-0 victory over Northeast Conference opponent Stonehill on Monday, Sept. 7 at Burnham Field. The triumph marked the first career win for Connor Klekota, the Bobby Clark Head Coach of Men's Soccer.
Dartmouth moved to 3-0 all-time against the Skyhawks, in a series that began in 2023.
Trenton Blake scored his 10th career goal, and Noah Sams his first. In goal, TJ Jeffreys kept a clean sheet and compiled three saves.
The Big Green recorded season-highs in goals (2), points (4), shots (23), and shots on goal (6). Dartmouth also held an advantage in shots, 23-7, and shots on goal, 6-3.
Dartmouth set the tone early and took a 1-0 lead just 2:45 into the match. Will Lulka had a shot from the top of the circle blocked, but the ball found its way to Blake, who fired a shot from the left side of the box that went straight into the back of the net.
After taking a 1-0 advantage into halftime, Dartmouth proceeded to take four shots in the first 10 minutes of the second half and was unlucky not to extend its lead.
In the 81st minute, Olly Spicer had a free kick from near the top-left corner of the box that hit the crossbar. Sams capitalized on the opportunity, scoring his first career goal and putting the Big Green up, 2-0.
Nicholas Greer sent a shot high in the 85th minute, and despite two late Stonehill scoring opportunities, Dartmouth went on to close out the match with a final score of 2-0.
