Men's Lightweight Rowing
vs Eastern Sprints

Yale was on the table this weekend for the Big Green and our athletes of the week feasted on the Bulldogs. Freshman Lily Lockhart earned wins in the shotput and the discus for the women's track team. Sophomore Charlie Broom swept the Bulldogs at No. 1 singles and doubles before downing the Brown Bears in singles.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Lily Lockhart, Fr., Delta, Colorado, Throws, Women's Track and Field
Was a two-event winner at Dartmouth’s outdoor meet Saturday at Yale. The freshman won the shot put as her second throw of the day proved to be her best and was measured at 13.70m. Lockhart would also go on to take home the top spot in the discus as her best throw came on her third attempt and measured at 41.14m, besting the second-place thrower by four and a half meters.
Charlie Broom, So., Hertfordshire, England, Men’s Tennis
Dartmouth men’s tennis went 2-0 over the weekend following 5-2 wins over both Yale and Brown. Charlie Broom went 3-0 in his matches, playing at the No. 1 position for both singles and doubles. The Big Green kicked off the weekend with a 6-1 victory by Broom and David Horneffer – who are No. 55 in the ITA National Rankings – at the No. 1 doubles position giving Dartmouth a 1-0 edge over Yale heading into singles.
Broom picked up another point for the Green with his 6-3, 6-3 defeat of Dylan King at the No. 1 singles position
Against Brown the sophomore defeated Jacob Haworth 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 1 position to make it a 3-0 match. Wins by Peter Conklin at the No. 6 spot and Max Fliegner at No. 4 clinched for Dartmouth.
