Student-Athletes
DP2 Career Development is focused on maximizing programming and services to help Dartmouth student-athletes access career education, skills, connections, and internship and job placement opportunities.
Dartmouth athletics works closely with The Center for Professional Development (CPD), which supports all Dartmouth undergraduates in exploring career interests, identifying strengths and opportunities, applying for jobs and internships, preparing for interviews, and learning about the professional world. We work collaboratively with employers, alumni, faculty, parents, and other colleagues – all of whom help educate students about the ever-changing world of work.
To begin to take advantage of career development at Dartmouth, all student-athletes are encouraged to log into Handshake system and create a profile. Handshake provides access to CPD workshops, coaching appointments, how-to guides, and internship resources, as well as targeted invitations to employer events/opportunities that may match students' unique interests.
Student-athletes at Dartmouth are also in a unique position to take advantage of an entire network of alumni who want to give back to the athletics department, team, and student-athletes. DP2 Career Development works to create connections with alumni mentorship. You can read more mentorship programs here. Â
Alumni Career Connections, Employers & Recruiters
Dartmouth has many opportunities for alumni to get involved in supporting our student-athletes in their career pursuits. Whether it's career panel discussions, resume review or mentor programming, we can help connect student-athletes to those who are in their industry.
