Still a relative newcomer to the game, Kouna has worked hard to put his considerable athletic ability to use … powerful player who can gather just about any rebound he sets out to get … shooting range extends out 12 to 15 feet.
FRESHMAN (2008-09)
Grabbed 12 rebounds — the most by a Big Green player all season — in just 18 minutes at Providence in his second collegiate game … tied for team lead in rebounding two games later in the win over Furman with six boards while scoring six points as well … in 12 minutes against Plymouth State, had nine rebounds … tallied six points on 3-of-4 shooting with four caroms versus Quinnipiac … provided five straight points during the 19-point comeback at Cornell to help force overtime … scored a season-high seven points with six boards and three blocks against the Big Red … had six crucial points, including a layup with 1:33 to play tying the score, in a 66-63 victory at Princeton.

Came to the United States two and a half years ago and played basketball and soccer, plus ran track, at the Cantebury School in New Milford, Conn. … lettered both years there in basketball and track, while earning a letter in soccer his final year … participated in the Basketball without Boarders (BWB) in Johannesburg, South Africa, and was in the top 100 players to come out of BWB.
