In 2024, Callahan help lead the Big Green to three wins in her first season as a full-time assistant coach of the Big Green. Dartmouth earned two All-Ivy honorees in 2024 in Olivia Galiotos (Second Team) and Lucia Campaño (Honorable Mention).
Following two years as volunteer assistant coach, Jen Callahan was announced as a full-time assistant coach on Mar. 6, 2024. Callahan joins head coach Mark Egner and assistant coach Maggie Reddecliff on the Big Green staff.

During her second season in the volunteer role, Callahan helped the team to a 6-9 record, doubling the program's win total from the previous season. Additionally, the program earned plenty of Ivy League and national recognition. Five student-athletes were named to All-Ivy teams, the program's most All-Ivy honorees since 1999. Both Bronwyn Bird and Lucia Campaño were named to National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) teams, and the entire program was recognized for their academic success. Twenty two student-athletes were named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad with five earning Scholars of Distinction honors. They were also honored with the NFHCA National Team Academic Award for the second highest grade point average in Division I field hockey.

"I'm thrilled that Jen is joining our staff in a full-time role," Egner said. "These past two years, she has played an invaluable role in the development of our program, and I know that with an increased involvement, we will see her impact grow significantly."Â
Â
Callahan got her start in collegiate coaching at Lehigh in 2011, where she also earned her master's degree. She started as a graduate assistant before working her way to a transitional head coach. Following Lehigh, Callahan made her way to American International College as head coach, where she led the team to NE10 Championship semifinals and an NCAA Tournament berth. She also spent almost ten years with the USA Field Hockey Futures Program.
Â
"Dartmouth is a special place with wonderful student-athletes, staff, and alumnae," Callahan said. "Coach Egner is one of the brightest young coaches in our sport with a great vision for the field hockey program. I can't wait to continue learning from him. I am so grateful to be working with the field hockey team on a full-time basis moving forward."Â
A 2009 graduate of Vermont with a bachelor's degree in elementary education, Callahan went on to receive a master's degree in teaching and learning from Lehigh in 2011. She also holds a USA Field Hockey Level II Developmental Coaching Accreditation and a USA Field Hockey Level I Coaching Accreditation.
