One of five fifth-year seniors...Saw time at center in the spring and could play there or elsewhere on the line this fall. 2005: Returned after missing junior year as a result of a calf injury that became infected and ultimately developed into potentially fatal necrotizing fasciitis and septic shock...Started all ten games...Won Lester R. Godwin Award, presented to "the senior football squad member who, through extraordinary perseverance has risen above personal disadvantage to contribute measurably to the team." 2004: Missed the entire season while recovering from a life-threatening leg infection...Spent nearly a month in the hospital...Credited teammates and coaches for helping him through a harrowing time. 2003: Came on strong through season, earning several starting assignments. High School: Earned 11 letters in three different sports at Belmont Hill School...Guided school to three straight Independent School League championships and one New England Prep School title...Selected a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete...Given the Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association Courage Award...Selected an ISL All-Star.
