A rare four-year starter for the Big Green ... election as captain was no surprise ... received the inaugural Charles (Stubby) Pearson '42 Award recognizing an underclassman for character, leadership on campus, high academic standing and performance at conclusion of spring drills.
2007: Came up big in finale against Princeton with a season-high nine tackles ... made five stops each against Brown and Colgate ... posted a sack in win over Penn...Had tackles for loss against Columbia and UNH.
2006: Won the Doten Award, given to the sophomore who has made a significant contribution to the varsity team ... fourth-leading tackler after making 54 stops, including 30 solos ... second on squad with 4.5 tackles for loss ... registered one sack, two pass breakups, fumble recoveries against New Hampshire and Harvard and forced fumbles against Yale and Harvard ... returned an interception 13 yards in the Ivy opener at Penn.
2005: Collected the Earl Hamilton Freshman Award for outstanding contribution to the varsity team ... moved into a starting role midway through the season ... had four tackles each against Columbia and Brown ... made a tackle for a loss in just his second college game against UNH ... finished with 20 stops.
High School: Three-year letterwinner ... team captain ... led team to state and regional championships as a junior, as well as a 14-1 record ... made 200 tackles in his final two years ... as a senior, named Northside defensive player-of-the-year, all-county, all-region and honorable mention for all-state ... first team all-state and all-region as junior.
Personal: Majoring in economics ... born on April 13, 1987 ... serving senior year as president of Aquinas House, the Catholic Student Center at Dartmouth ... did Language Study Abroad program in Rome in the winter of 2006-07 and worked for the State Department as an intern in Rome, Italy at the Embassy to the Holy See in Winter 2007-08 ... brother, Brendan, played football for Davidson College ... received the Class of 1948 Scholar-Athlete Award, presented annually "to one male and one female of the junior class, who have combined outstanding performance in athletics and significant achievement in academics." ... practices yoga and meditation.
