Plagued by foot injuries with the powerhouse Seton Hall Prep program that went 25-3 his freshman year and 30-1 the next winter. Sat out junior year after transferring to hometown Roselle Park High in the winter of that school year but exploded on the scene as a senior, making the Mountain Valley Conference first team. Averaged 20.9 points and 12.6 rebounds in his one season at Roselle Park. Had 38 points and 20 rebounds in one game. Chosen by the Newark Star-Ledger as one of two Surprise Players in talent-laden Union County. Same publication named him to its All-Windex team. Captained Roselle Park as a senior. A McDonald’s All-America nominee. Member of the math honors society.
