Had an assist in each game of the Ledyard Classic against Colorado College (12.28) and UConn (12.29)... Scored his first goal of the season with a breakaway tally at Princeton (1.3)...Extended point streak to four games with a helper at Quinnipiac (1.4)...Opened the scoring in Dartmouth’s 3-2 win against No. 7 Clarkson (1.17)...Registered an assist on the first goal scored against St. Lawrence (1.18)...Picked up an assist against Harvard (2.7)...Posted his first multi-point game of the season with 1-1-2 at home vs. Brown (2.14)... Had an assist in Game 2 vs. Princeton (3.7).
2018-19 (Sophomore):
Appeared in all but one of the team's 34 games...Picked up his first point of the season with an assist on Oct. 27 vs. Harvard...Posted a goal and an assist in home win against Quinnipiac (11.3)...Had a helper on Dartmouth's first goal against Colgate (12.1)...Had an assist against Army West Point (12.29) in the Ledyard Classic on his 21st birthday...Posted a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win against St. Lawrence (1.25)...Scored vs. RPI (2.8)...Scored the game winner in Game 1 vs. St. Lawrence (3.8), while picking up a helper in Game 2 (3.9)..
2017-18 (Freshman):
First career point was an assist in Dartmouth’s 4-3 win vs. Brown on 11.3...Scored his 1st career goal at No. 2 Denver (12.16) to give Dartmouth a 4-3 lead with 1:37 left in regulation...Scored PPG vs. Quinnipiac (1.12)...Scored Dartmouth’s 6th goal at RPI (2.9)...Scored a pair of third-period goals to help Dartmouth turn a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 win vs. SLU (2.17). It was his first career multi-point game...Had a two-point night (1-1-2) in the final game of the season, a Game 3 loss at Harvard (3.11).
Before Dartmouth:
- Two-year USHL player with three teams.
- Played this past season for Des Moines, helping the Buccaneers earn their first playoff berth in a decade alongside fellow incoming freshman Brendan Demlar ‘21.
- As a rookie in 2015-16, Rutherford was a member of the Tri-City Storm and helped the team claim the Clark Cup as the USHL Champions.
- Played T1EHL for the Buffalo Jr. Sabres where he helped his team earn a NYAHA State Championship (U18), while also serving as an alternate captain in 2014-15.
- Was selected to participate in three USA Hockey Select Festivals.
- Interested in studying economics or astronomy.
- His father played DIII hockey at Buffalo State.
