Before Dartmouth: Drafted by the New York Islanders in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft … Played in 60 games with the Tri-City Storm in 2007-08 scoring 30 points … Decided to forego his senior year of high school in 2006-07 to sign with the NAHL Springfield Jr. Blues … In 54 games he finished fourth on the team in scoring with 36 points (14 goals, 22 assists … He participated in the Western College Hockey Prospects … Played for the Rockford Icemen of the USHS in 2004-05 talling an uncanny 214 points (140 goals, 74 assists) in 61 games … Was the leading scorer for Illinois High Schools, and for the second straight season was the leading scorer for the Metro Conference … Was named to the All-State team for the second straight season as well as being named a two-time team MVP … Was also named to the Northwest Metro Conference and H.S. All-Star Teams and was a member of the 2004-05 Illinois Showcase Team and was a participant in Hockey Night in Boston.
