Sailing - Open & Women's
vs Harry Anderson Trophy
Why Dartmouth?
I knew if I didn't leave California for college, I probably never would, and it was important to me to experience life in another part of the country. I had narrowed it down to two schools, and the school would have been the safer choice. I chose Dartmouth because it was a challenge and a huge change from the life I knew, not to mention the excellent education I knew I would get. Dimensions definitely had a part in my decision too.
How long have you been sailing and what got you interested in sailing?
I had never sailed before coming to Dartmouth. I sailed for the first time at a practice my sophomore spring and loved it, so I joined the team in the fall of my junior year.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I have always been a huge tomboy. If I can throw it, kick it, hit it, or it has wheels, I'm so down.
What are your future sailing and career plans?
What sports or activities did you pursue in high school, and what do you hope to continue at Dartmouth?
Before college, roller hockey was pretty much my life. I started playing when I was 7 and couldn't get enough. In high school, I also ran cross country and pole vaulted on the track team. Since coming to Dartmouth, I have switched from roller to ice hockey, and want to continue learning how to play ice.
