SOPHOMORE (2019-20)
Shaved more than two full strokes off her stroke average from her rookie season to 76.60, helping her earn the team’s Most Improved Award … opened the year tying for 26th out of 79 golfers on the home course at the Dartmouth Invitational … best finish came at the Princeton Invitational, tying for 18th of 80 with 23 pars and a 5-over 149 for the Big Green’s second-lowest score … lowest single round came at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational, making par with a 72 on the second 18 … played consistently solid at the FAU Winter Warmup with a 79-75-75—229 (+13) to help Dartmouth place fourth out of 14 teams … did not play again due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
FRESHMAN (2018-19)
Participated in all eight tournaments as a rookie, posting a stroke average of 78.65 … began her Dartmouth career in solid fashion, tying for 14th out of 86 at the Dartmouth Invitational thanks to a season-low 74 (+2) in the opening round and seven birdies over both rounds … the MSU Spring Citrus Challenge was a solid outing as she broke 80 in all three rounds, tying for 34th of 55 … finished her freshman year at the Ivy League Championship, tying for 24th overall while contributing to the team score in two of the three rounds as Dartmouth finished second for the first time in program history.
HIGH SCHOOL
Four-year letter winner and scholar-athlete, and two-time captain of the varsity golf team … team MVP three times … Ventura County Star’s Girls Scholar-Athlete of the Year as a senior after qualifying for the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Championship at Poppy Hills in Pebble Beach, tying for 10th out of 54 golfers … Marmonte League MVP as the individual champion as a junior … also led the Warriors to their first CIF Southern Section championship that same year … VC Star’s Tirls Golfer of the Year as well … Data Science vice president one year, treasurer another.
PERSONAL
Born on Oct. 24, 2000 … daughter of Ying and Maosheg Jenny Chen has an older sister (Sophia) who golfed at Penn for four years … enjoys hiking, origami and pop music … keen on an engineering major.
