Their efforts are rewarded by being named the DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Junior Jared Gerbino ran all over Yale in a nationally televised, 41-18 road victory on Friday night, piling up 169 yards and two touchdowns on just 20 carries for an 8.5-yard average. The wildcat quarterback needed just three rushes on Dartmouth's first series to cover 66 yards, the last a 31-yard burst to the end zone for the game's first points. Early in the second quarter, he scored his second touchdown on a six-yard scamper through the right side. By the end of the half, Gerbino had 152 of his 169 yards —his second career game over 100 — as the Big Green owned a 27-10 advantage en route to their victory.
