Men's Tennis Falls To Cornell And Columbia On The Road

NEW YORK – The Dartmouth men's tennis team traveled for a pair of matches in New York state, falling 4-0 to Cornell on Saturday and 4-1 to Columbia on Sunday.
The Big Green opened their match against Cornell with a win at No. 1 doubles, where Henry Ren and Miles Groom delivered a decisive 6-2 victory. Cornell came back to claim the doubles point by taking the remaining two matches.
In singles play, Groom and Treacy each forced a third set in their matches, but both went unfinished. Leo Pade rallied to take the second set after dropping the first, but his match went unfinished as well. Cornell ultimately secured the team win with straight-set victories at No. 1, No. 3, and No. 6.
Down in New York City, Dartmouth earned its sole point of the match when Kornel Halmos had an impressive 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles.
The Lions claimed the early advantage by sweeping the doubles point, though Denny Bao and Kornel Halmos picked up a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles. Columbia secured the win with straight-set singles victories at No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6.
The Big Green will close out the regular season on Sunday when facing Harvard at 2 p.m. in Cambridge.
