"Nina is an excellent addition to our staff," Keady Norton said. "She brings a level of passion, competitiveness and enthusiasm that is contagious. Coming off a highly successful playing career, both as a student-athlete and then professionally in the NWHL, Nina has the experience to be a tremendous role model for our players. She will work with our offense and focus primarily on on-ice skill and player development."
Rodgers played in the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) since graduating in 2018, playing one season with the Connecticut Whale (2018-19) before heading back to her home state to play for the Minnesota Whitecaps (2019-21).
Even while playing professionally, Rodgers kept herself busy in the hockey coaching world. She was head coach of the Upper Midwest High School Hockey Elite League and the head on-ice instructor at OS Hockey Training for the past three years.
Rodgers started her collegiate career at Minnesota, winning two national championships while there before transferring to Boston University, where she played for then-assistant coach Keady Norton as a senior. She graduated from BU in 2018 with a degree in health sciences and ended her four-year playing career with 56 points (26-30-56) and a +33.
