HANOVER, N.H. – On Wednesday, Head Coach
Maura Crowell announced the full group of incoming student-athletes joining the Big Green ahead of the 2026-27 season. Dartmouth will welcome nine players to Hanover, including eight members of the Class of 2030 and a sophomore transfer.
"We're excited to welcome a great group of student-athletes to Dartmouth Hockey this year," Crowell said. "Winners raise the standards. Leaders elevate those around them. Competitors embrace the hardest moments. The newcomers embody these principles. We can't wait to get started."
The incoming Class of 2030 features five forwards, two defenders, and a goalie while the Big Green will also add a forward from Minnesota Duluth, joining the Class of 2029. The full list of newcomers is below in alphabetical order.
#7 Marissa Gloyns | Stoufville, Ontario | Crestwood Preparatory College | Defense
Gloyns joins the Big Green from Crestwood Preparatory College and the Mississauga Hurricanes U22, having excelled both athletically and academically. The defender was named Crestwood's Most Dedicated Player, Athlete of the Year, and impressed in the OWHL, posting 41 points (3-38- 41) in 88 games with the Hurricanes. Academically, Gloyns earned honors with distinction and received the Eastman Young Leaders Award recognizing academic achievement, leadership and commitment to community involvement.
#31 Janie McGawn | Edina, Minnesota | The Blake School | Goalie
McGawn was a dual sport athlete at Blake School, a four-year letter winner in both hockey and lacrosse. She impressed on the ice, posting a .941 save percentage and a 1.87 goals against average over the four seasons. McGawn went 22-8 with eight shutouts in her senior campaign, earning MCHSL All-State honors for the second straight season and being named to the 2026 State Tournament All-Tournament team. Additionally, McGawn won the National Championship with MN Elite Silver in 2025 and MN Elite Vegas in 2026. She also capped her senior campaign on the Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association All-Academic State Team.
#3 Rebecca Langenegger | Cordast, Switzerland | OYM College | Defense
Langenegger has been a member of the Swiss U16, U18, and Prospect teams, winning bronze at the U16 European Championship in 2023. She's also played in the IIHF U18 Women's World Championship and U16 European Championship twice, the European Youth Olympic festival, and the Post Finance Women's League, winning bronze this season. Academically, Langenegger is a Swiss Matura student with strong academic standing, being presented Gold Status for academic achievement.
#10 Sophia Busa | Huntington, New York | Berkshire School | Forward
Busa was a three sport athlete at Berkshire School, playing hockey, field hockey, and was a track and field athlete, serving as the ice hockey and field hockey captain in her senior campaign. She led the hockey team in points and was the team's MVP in 2024-25, landing a spot on the NEPSAC First Team and All-Tournament Team. Busa is a two-time USA Nationals Championship finalist, an All-Tournament team selection in the championship in 2023, and a member of the 2023 USA Hockey development camp. She also stood out academically at Berkshire, earning honors or high honors all four years, the Head Perfect, and received the Dartmouth College Book Award.
#25 Ava Giroux | St. Albans, Vermont | Deerfield Academy | Forward
Giroux joins the Big Green after playing at Deerfield Academy, serving as the hockey team's captain as a senior. She earned the 7
th Player Award, was a 2026 Elise 8 finalist, and an All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention as a junior. In the classroom, Giroux was on the honor roll and was a Hale Scholar.
#18 Cate McCoy | Edina, Minnesota | Edina High School | Forward
McCoy, one of four Minnesota natives joining the Big Green this season, is coming off an impressive senior campaign, serving as the team's captain and a Ms. Hockey Semifinalist nomination. She is a three-time all-conference honoree, having won the Minnesota State Championship in 2024 and following with a runner-up performance in 2025. In her career at Edina, McCoy scored 60 goals and added 65 assists for 125 total points in 116 games.
#26 Kayla Gerson | Ithaca, New York | Bishop Kearney High School | Forward
Gerson comes to Hanover from Bishop Kearnery, the same high school as sophomore defender
Miami Jones and junior goaltender Michaela Hesová. She is a Section 3 All-Star, having received the 2025 Triple "C" Award from the New York State Attorney General. She also impressed academically, earning the Bishop Kearney Award of Academic Excellence in three subjects; Spanish IV, AP Pre-Calculus, and AP Chemistry.
#21 Addy Cowan | Prior Lake, Minnesota | Holy Family Catholic High School | Forward
Cowan also joins the Big Green from the State of Hockey after being a four-year letter winner and two-time Wright County All-Conference honoree. She was named a Minnesota Hockey All-State Tournament Team Honorable Mention and shined in the classroom, earning academic honor grades in eight semesters.
#20 Ellie Zakrajsheck | Golden Valley, Minnesota | Minnetonka High School / Minnesota Duluth | Forward | '29
Zakrajsheck will join the Big Green after one season playing at Minnesota Duluth, taking the ice in 15 games. Prior to her time with the Bulldogs, Zakrajsheck was a four-year letter winner in high school, earning Lake Conference All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition twice. She was also named Minnetonka High School hockey's most improved player as a sophomore, unsung hero as a senior, and the school's outstanding academic athlete in her final year. She was also an All-State Honorable mention as a senior. Academically, Zakrajsheck was an eight-semester member of the honor roll, a Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association Academic All-State honoree and a 2024 AP Scholar.
The Big Green's nine incomers and the rest of the team will begin the 2026-27 campaign on Friday, October 16 when they host Saint Michael's. More information on game times and tickets will be available on DartmouthSports.com.
