Dartmouth Men's Hockey Loses to Princeton, 3-0

Princeton, N.J. - The Dartmouth men's hockey team lost 3-0 to Princeton tonight at Hobey Baker Rink in Princeton, N.J. With the loss the Big Green falls to 0-2 on the season and 0-2 in the ECAC Hockey League. Princeton improves to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in league play.
Despite outshooting the Tigers in the first period, it was Princeton that capitalized on a power-play goal with 1:18 left in the stanza. Traffic in front of Dartmouth netminder
Sean Samuel allowed Grant Goeckner-Zoeller to sneak one past and put Princeton up 1-0 at the end of the first.
After two, the Tigers still held a 1-0 lead and they were the ones to light the lamp midway through the third when Patrick Neundorfer put the home team up 2-0. Dartmouth had its chances as both
Mike Ouellette and
Jarrett Sampson hit the pipe but Princeton netminder, B.J. Sklapsky was up to the task. Princeton added its third and final goal on an empty netter with :01 left on the clock.
Sklapsky finished with 41 saves and earned the first shutout of his career. Samuel finished with 25 saves.
The last time the Big Green started the season off with back-to-back losses was 2000-01. Dartmouth will be back in action tomorrow night in another ECACHL match up with Quinnipiac.
